A Week of Wonder: What Can Happen in 7 Days

As we count down the final 7 days before Christmas, I’m reminded of just how much can happen in a single week. God created the entire world in 7 days, proving that each day holds incredible potential.

This week, I’m embracing the wonder of what these 7 days can bring—and I’ll be sharing a little piece of my journey each day. My hope is to reflect on how the day unfolded, how God’s presence guided me through, and the joy of creating the magic of Christmas for my kids. There’s nothing quite like seeing the sparkle in their eyes during this season!

🎁  Day 1: Hope – Start with a heart full of expectation. Whether you’re preparing gifts, meals, or simply taking a deep breath, lean into hope—and share that hope with your little ones by starting a festive countdown or reading a Christmas story together.

🎄  Day 2: Love – Share a kind word, a warm hug, or a moment of encouragement. Love transforms even the busiest days. Today might include baking cookies with the kids, singing Christmas songs, or even crafting handmade cards to spread love beyond your home.

✨  Day 3: Joy – Find joy in the little things: the twinkle of lights, the sound of laughter, or a cup of hot cocoa in the quiet. Joy is contagious, and today I plan to let the kids lead—whether that means a dance party by the tree or a messy Christmas craft session.

🕯️  Day 4: Peace – Pause for a moment of prayer or reflection. Even amidst the hustle, peace is found in His presence. Share that peace with the kids by creating a quiet moment together—maybe lighting a candle, sharing a devotional, or cuddling up for a Christmas movie.

🎶  Day 5: Gratitude – Count the blessings of the season, big and small. Gratitude prepares our hearts to receive even more. We’ll start a gratitude list as a family, writing down what we’re thankful for this season, from the big (Jesus!) to the small (hot cocoa with marshmallows).

⭐  Day 6: Faith – Remember the reason for this season, the birth of our Savior. Renew your faith in His promises and help your children see the meaning of Christmas through their eyes, whether it’s acting out the nativity story or talking about why Jesus came into the world.

🌟  Day 7: Celebration – It’s Christmas Eve! Gather with loved ones, reflect on the beauty of this journey, and celebrate Emmanuel—God with us. For the kids, this might mean sprinkling reindeer food, setting out cookies for Santa, or sharing a bedtime prayer full of wonder and anticipation.

Each evening, I’ll check back here to share how my day went—what I learned, how I saw God working, and how we created special moments as a family. I’d love for you to join me! How are you preparing your heart, home, and spirit for Christmas? Let’s encourage each other in the comments!
